With us already having reported that Roy Hodgson would, if he had his way, want a £10 million war-chest this transfer window, it seems one player is already being linked to our club.
The player in question is Benni McCarthy, of Blackburn Rovers, a player that has drifted in and out of the Rovers first team in recent months and having made only four starts.
Apparently, our interest has been revealed by the players` agent, Ivan Modia.
Modia has also implied that Portsmouth could also be interested. But, if our interest is genuine, then we have a head start over the South coast club who are currently under a transfer embargo.
Now what could be the crux of this whole transfer scenario is that McCarthy needs regular first team football to ensure he stands a chance of guaranteeing his place in the South Africa squad for the 2010 World Cup.
Here at Vital Fulham, we have two questions.
Would a move for Benni McCarthy be acceptable to the Fulham support?
And, if we did sign him, would he be a regular in our first team?
