According to various sources, a bid for Sheffield Wednesday winger, Chris Brunt has been rejected.

Brunt, who at twenty-two, is a Northern Ireland international is seen as the ideal replacement for Wayne Routledge who has returned to Spurs after making twenty-four Premiership appearances for the Cottagers last season.

It remains to be seen whether Fulham will up the bid but the Sheffield Wednesday Chief Executive, Kevan Walker, has left us in no doubt as to how he feels about the matter, remarking in a recent interview,

“Everyone has their price, but Fulham`s offer is a long way off what we feel he`s worth. This offer was discussed with Chris and talks are continuing to keep him.”

Unfortunately, that statement gives us absolutely no idea as to how high a bid will tempt Sheffield Wednesday to part with Brunt.

We`ll endeavour to keep you posted.
