Fulham Behind At Half-Time And Must Do Better Against A Watford Side That Have Dominated.

|

All is not well at Craven Cottage as Fulham are dominated by a powerful Watford side.

For the second game on the bounce, Fulham fell behind to an early goal in a Premier League fixture.

At a wet Craven Cottage, facing Watford, Fulham fell behind with just ninety seconds played when an accurate pass from Will Hughes gave Andre Gray the opportunity to beat Marcus Bettinelli with a low shot.

Fulham struggled to recover from that early set-back in a half here the defence looked rickety and Watford looked the likelier team to score.

In fact, only good goalkeeping from Bettinelli kept the score at 1-0 with Watford Wasting several chances to increase the lead.

Going forward, Fulham created very little with only one swift counter-attack seeing Ben Foster, in the Watford goal tested when he reacted smartly, got his angles correct, and prevented Vietto from equalising.

The centre-back pairing of Mawson and Chambers struggled to cope with Gray and Deeney whilst Will Hughes looked to be in control of the midfield.

Such were Fulham’s problems that both Mawson and Fosu-Mensah were booked with the latter lucky not to be red-carded for a poor challenge on Deeney.

Fulham need to improve in the second half or else they’ll get nothing from this game.
