Rumours are rife that James Beattie was on the verge of a move to Craven Cottage and that he even underwent a medical before the deal collapsed in spectacular fashion.
According to rumour, Roy Hodgson pulled the plug, at the eleventh hour, when it became obvious that Beattie wouldn`t budge from his request for £45,000 a week!
