Fulham – Baird on our Away Form!

In a season that continues to offer us optimism that we can match the record achievements of last season, one thing still hampers us – our away form!

We just can`t seem to get those away results that would see us creep closer to those who occupy a top six position.

It`s a point that Chris Baird, a player who is having an extended spell in the side and producing the goods, has remarked upon, commenting,

“In the Premiership, it’s always tough to go away from home, but the way we lost at Chelsea was disappointing and our first half performance at Stoke was absolutely atrocious – we know that,’

‘After these last two defeats away from home, we’re eager to do better. We’ve been stuck on 27 points for the last couple of weeks so we want to get a move on, get the points on the board and get our season going again.”

‘We’ve got Blackburn away on Sunday, then Spurs after the FA Cup, so it’s going to be a tough few weeks. But we know we can still go to places like that and get results.”

‘We went to Spurs last year and got a good draw. Blackburn only beat us with a goal in the last couple of minutes. If we can improve on that, we can build on a very good first half of the season.’

We sure should be able to Chris although Blackburn, this weekend could be a strange one.

Blackburn chief, Sam Allardyce is under pressure from the home support and he faces a quandary.

With a Wembley place beckoning in the Carling Cup tonight, does he go all out for a win to appease the support or does he rest a few key players in order to ensure their drop towards the relegation zone is arrested with a win against us.

Am I the only one hoping it`s the former?
