Dear Gavin Brown,

London Metro Newspaper

Well Done Gavin. I don`t say that with any irony because being a football writer for Metro means you are read by more people than me and you only have to focus on the issues at the top of the game. I was delighted to read your comments this morning about how Roy Hodgson is brilliant at his job, seems ‘affable, modest and decent` and as you conclude ‘he`s English, successful, can work on a budget and transform a club`s image`

It is just a shame you ruined it by finishing ‘What`s keeping you Roman?
`
Erm to answer your question…Mr Al Fayed? Having to lose the ability to be trusted to get on your job? Being able to combine UEFA duties with being his own man on the quiet without vast expectation? Not having to deal with the media intrusion of his every move, highlighted by the picture of Hiddink next to your article with a Nun from Sister Act: The musical on the Stamford Bridge pitch. Gentleman Roy would have Nun of that I am sure.

But wait….what are you playing at Gavin? I thought your paper didn`t write about us. You have written up our Monday night games before in two paragraphs offering the Back page headlines to Man United, Liverpool, Arsenal or Formula One and after our 0-0 draw at Middlesbrough recently you wrote about Gareth Southgate and mentioned us in name only as Saturday`s opponents.

So why pretend you are interested unless you are trying to…sway popular attention to request that Roy moves on.

Why do this? It is absolutely out of order. I get praise for writing on Vital Fulham fans website, so maybe someone should talk me into your job?

I would understand the interests of football more and recognise that praise can be delivered in editorial comment without breaking up an entertaining unit and causing rumour. How bloody rude. I mean other writers this week, worth their salt, in national newspapers have made comment on the top of the game have gone with the Manager of the season line, but you have wholly asked Roman Abramovich publicly to make a move for a man under contract and employed elsewhere.

Do you realise how degrading that is. You are a chump. If you actually support Chelsea then you are a soup chump still smarting from that Barcelona game, but I suspect you were shocked to turn on the television last night and see two teams called Leeds and Millwall play…because they are not in the Premier League.

I am available to take your job from next season.

Regards,

FulhamJules

Vital Fulham writer
