Fulham – An Interesting Summer

So with Europa League Final defeat and the news that the Premier League had tumbled down the Fair Play League, any hope of European football down at the Cottage next season has been dashed.

Obviously, this will have an effect on the transfers and quality of players we need to bring in over the summer months.

For Roy Hodgson standards, the squad seemed fairly large this season. However, as we know, a lot of players seem to already have agreed their next moves, look likely to leave or simply wont have their loans extended.

Just a quick tally already indicates we have already seen the last of Chris Smalling and Erik Nevland whilst we might not see: Pascal Zuberbuhler, Fredrik Stoor, Nicky Shorey, Jonathan Greening, David Elm or Diomansy Kamara next season.

With a strong core of players left at the club and the Chairman’s purse recently increased due to his sale of Harrods, I’d quite like to see a couple of top quality additions join the club ranks as opposed to a flurry of fringe players. However, as we all understand, Roy knows best.
