So much for the presumption, yesterday, that the future of Roy Hodgson looked to be with Fulham!
Lurking on the internet, last night, were quotes form the man himself that have once again sown those seeds of doubt in my mind.
Speaking about the vacancy at Inter Milan, Roy is quoted in the Italian media as having remarked,
‘I don’t know who could be the coach.’
‘I saw an interview where Capello said he wanted to stay with England, but in that type of situation it is impossible to know where the truth lies.
‘There has been so much speculation on Benitez’s future. The last thing I heard was that he wanted to stay at Liverpool, as he still has a four-year contract.”
‘I haven’t spoken to anyone or heard anything from Inter.”
‘There is the same type of speculation around my name as you get with Capello and Benitez.’
‘I have a contract with Fulham.”
‘The day I receive a call from someone, then that is the moment I’ll think about these things. For the moment I’m not thinking about them.’
Just one phone call then?
