Only just avoiding relegation had the unfortunate effect of probably acting as a dissuasive action when it came to targeting players last summer.

You couldn`t blame those looking in from the outside for not fancying another relegation fight; therefore persuading them to move to Craven Cottage may not have been easy.

Therefore, the fact that we`re closing in on a top seven or eight finish could have the opposite effect. Suddenly joining Fulham could be seen as an attractive career proposition, a fact that Roy Hodgson has picked up upon when he`s quoted as saying in a tabloid this morning,

“I`d like to think people say – ‘I`m going to a well established club.”

But, we should probably point out it could also be perceived as a double edged sword as salary expectations could exceed those on offer.

Nevertheless, it promises to be an interesting summer doesn`t it!
