Right, this is absolutely the last word on last weekend; it’s the last time we’re going to mention the fact that West Ham were lucky, that we were robbed and that two minutes of madness cost us so dearly.

The fact that it’s our captain Simon Davies being interviewed, and quoted, on the official site, gives us good reason to finally draw a line under the vents of last Saturday.

The quotes, shown below, perfectly sum up exactly what happened and perhaps should be read by every supporter of our fine club, perhaps to allay the seeds of doubt that three consecutive victories have planted in our minds.

Take it away Simon,

“I think everyone in the ground would have said that we were on top but if you don`t score goals when you`re on top, more often than not you pay for it. They took their chances when they had them and we didn`t – that`s the name of the game,” he said.

“We were playing well; creating a lot of chances then gave away two bad goals from our point of view so it was frustrating. It was a mad three minutes really, with the two goals and AJ getting sent off.

“At half-time we were wondering ‘where did that come from?`, but that`s football. We tried to deal with it the best we could and, to be fair to the lads, we came out well in the second-half, got a good goal and with a bit of luck could have got away with a draw.

“But we`ve still got to take the positives out of it, we`ll go into the next game and keep trying to play our game and keep as solid as possible.

“We`re five games into the season, we don`t get too carried away when we`re winning and we don`t get too disheartened when we`re losing. We`ve just go to keep an even keel.”

Right, now let’s bring on West Brom!
