Fulham registered a comprehensive win over West Brom to climb out of the relegation places.

Mark Hughes made two changes to the side that had gone down, narrowly, at White Hart Lane on Monday. With Schwarzer away on Asian Cup duty, David Stockdale was given the nod between the posts, as expected, whilst Diomansy Kamara was given a strikers role against his former club.

The first chance of the match was engineered by Fulham, Baird played a long ball to Kamara and Carson did well to produce a save low down, after some neat work controlling the ball by the striker. Fulham were dominating the early stages forcing West Brom back but clear-cut chances were at a premium.

For all our early dominance, it was West Brom that were to carve out the first major chance of the half. Brunt found Thomas with a great through ball but Stockdale did wonderfully well to keep out his left foot shot.

West Brom suffered another injury blow when Cech picked up an injury after a challenge with Pantsil. As half time approached chances were becoming rare as Fulham struggled to open up the West Brom defence and improve on a record that had seen them score nineteen times in twenty games.

But with half time but minutes away, Fulham should have improved on that record when Hangeland met a Davies corner but directed his header wide, from eight yards out, with Scott Carson struggling.

Just as you thought the game was destined to end the half without a goal Fulham scored. The scorer was Simon Davies who unleashed a long range shot that Carson couldn`t deal with.

Half Time – Fulham 1 West Brom 0

Fulham, pushing forward almost doubled their lead when Duff fired a shot inches wide from twenty yards out. But that second gal wasn`t far away when Dempsey scored his seventh of the season powering home a header from a Davies corner.

The lead was further increased when Hangeland scored a third for Fulham, the Norwegian rising unmarked to head home a Davies corner. With the three goal lead Fulham were looking well comfortable and looked capable of scoring a fourth.
