The 2-1 win, against Sunderland, lifted Fulham to second place in the Championship, thereby keeping the race to secure that second automatic promotion spot going until the final day of the season.

Fulham have one fixture left to play this season, when they travel to St Andrews to take on Birmingham.

Our main rivals for that second-place Cardiff City, have two games to play. Today they are away to Hull City and on the final Sunday of the season, they entertain Reading.

Whatever the outcome of the game between Hull City and Cardiff City today, the race for that second automatic promotion place will go to the final fixtures of the season.

In a season where there have been so many twists and turns, who would dare to predict the outcome with regards to grabbing that all-important second place thereby avoiding the lottery of the play-offs.
