Fulham returned to winning ways against a Newcastle side, last night, that are a far cry from the top-four pushing side of last season.

With over 25,000 packed into our grand stadium, Fulham got off to the better start with Newcastle struggling to get into the match. Just before the 20 minute mark, Fulham went ahead, although there was a touch of fortune about the goal with Sidwell`s shot taking a deflection off of Williamson to beat Kruk.

However, Newcastle, in the second half, got back into the match when Ben Arta scored a fine equalizer. His shot, from some twenty-five yards out, totally deceived Schwarzer to go into the goal just under the bar.

Thankfully, Fulham`s heads didn`t drop and when the former Newcastle player, Damien Duff, curled in a cross in the 63rd minute, Hugo Rodallega was on hand to head home the winner.

The win lifts Fulham into 13th place in the Premier League although the winning margin could have been a lot greater with Berbatov being denied twice when one-on-one with Krul, although Newcastle may well point to two goal line clearances from Riether that denied them further goals.

All in all it was an entertaining evening down at Craven Cottage.
