Fulham eased away from the relegation pack with a decisive win over a very poor Hull City side.
Goals from the front two, Bobby Zamora and Diomansy Kamara, were enough to see Hull`s dreadful away record continue.
The teams started the fixture, on Fulham`s 130th birthday, level on points and separated only by goal difference but the reality was that Fulham were in a different league to a side that after a bright start to Premier League life last season have often flattered to deceive.
For the fixture Fulham were without the injured Dickson Etuhu and Andrew Johnson, with starting places going to Chris Baird and Diomansy Kamara. The visitors refused to indulge u sin our wish to see Jimmy Bullard start by only naming him on the substitutes bench.
After a slow start it was Fulham that got the decisive breakthrough, in the forty-third minute. The goal came after Zamora had fed the ball to Damien Duff. The Irishman unleashed a shot that the keeper could only spill and Zamora reacted first to smartly head the ball over the line.
Hull were never really at the races and although the introduction of Jimmy Bullard, in the second half, offered them something extra it was Fulham that were to go on to wrap the game up when Kamara netted his first Premier league goal of the season.
The goal came after a sweeping eighteen pass move that ended in Aaron Hughes finding Zamora who rolled the ball square for Kamara to score. At 2-0 down, despite the bustling of Bullard, Hull were never going to come back and the three points were, deservedly, Fulham`s.
However, there is very little time to res ton our laurel as with difficult games coming up starting with an Europa League fixture at home to AS Roma followed by an away Premier League fixture to Manchester City.
