Both teams will be in the hat for the semi-final draw after a disappointing game at Craven Cottage ended 0-0.
Roy Hodgson made two changes for the FA Cup quarter final. Danny Murphy was replaced by Jonathan Greening, with Murphy having picked up a leg injury. At left back Nicky Shorey replaced Stephen Kelly.
With so much at stake the first half was a slightly disappointing affair with chances few and far between. Much of the play was in midfield and Fulham looked to be quite content to invite Spurs to come on to them.
But there were some half chances created. As early as the 4th minute Modric stabbed an effort wide aft Shorey had been a little too casual with a clearance. Three minutes later, after Pavlyuchenko had won a corner, Mark Schwarzer made an excellent claim.
With eighteen minutes played Greening was penalized for a late tackle, thirty-five yards out, but Kranjcar, from a central position, drove the free kick well wide. A minute later Fulham had their first effort on goal when Bobby Zamora cut in and Gomes saved his low, angled drive.
Schwarzer had to remain lively to parry away a fierce Kranjcar drive before, two minutes later, in the 30th minute; he had to stoop low to push away a Peter Crouch downward header.
Spurs were slightly on top by now and had two corners in quick succession but the Fulham defence stood firm with both coming to nothing. Just before half time Zoltan Gera and Zamora combined well but just as it looked as if the trigger was going to be pulled Ekotto got a vital foot in to clear.
If the first half had been all a bit too predicable at least the second half had a better tempo to it. With neither manager having made any changes Fulham should have taken the lead in the opening exchanges.
Simon Davies did well to dig out a cross and when Zamora headed it back into the path of Gera it was a chance that was begging to be put away. Sadly Gera`s header was placed too close to Gomes and he was able to make a save.
Fulham had started the half on the front foot and when Bale conceded a corner Brede Hangeland was unfortunate to see his header, from Davies cross, go straight at Gomes.
Spurs then turned the game on its head with some attacking pressure that saw the visitors force four corners in quick succession. From the final of these, after the ball had been initially cleared, Michael Dawson saw his volley fly just wide.
Just before the hour mark Duff almost capitalized on an Ekotto error but drove his shot wide and the same player then saw his shot saved after some decent approach play from Zamora.
With play switching from end to end Pavlyuchenko saw his spectacular overhead kick clear the cross bar followed by Kranjcar drilling a shot wide after he`d advanced forward with the ball.
With time running out both sides made changes, Fulham brought on David Elm whilst Spurs brought on Jermain Defoe. But the best chance of the deadlock being broken came in the last minute, in almost comical circumstances.
A Zamora ball into the danger area was dramatically sliced just wide of his post by Corluka. After playing out the three minutes of stoppage time, it`s back to White Hart Lane for the replay where Spurs might just fancy their chances.
