Fulham`s hopes of a decent run in the League Cup and perhaps a lucrative opponent in the third round were dashed by Bristol Rovers last night.

In front of an attendance of just 6,243 the Cottagers crashed out of the competition, beaten by a side from League One.

For the fixture, Salvisa Jokanovic made eleven changes to the side that had been beaten, on Saturday, by Sheffield Wednesday.

In making so many changes Fulham looked disjointed and lacked any real fluency.

In a game of few changes and played out in what was a quiet atmosphere, the only goal of the game came in the thirteenth minute when Ellis Harrison collected a pass from Liam Sercombe to take the ball around Marcus Bettinelli to score.

As for the few other chances in the game, Bettinelli produced a good point-blank save to deny Tom Lockyer whilst Fulham`s best chance of the night fell to Aboubakar Kamara, but the summer signing could only manage to head the ball wide.

The result means that Fulham have now gone four games without a win and haven`t scored in the last three.

Worrying times for Fulham supporters!
