Jari Litmanen has returned to Finland after picking up a thigh injury and will not play for against Everton on Sunday.
The veteran striker has not kicked a competitive ball since arriving in January.
Now, the 37-year-old has picked up a thigh strain and has returned to Finland to get new insoles fitted in his boots, ruling him out of Sunday’s game.
‘He’ll play but he’s a bit unlucky,’ boss Roy Hodgson told The Mirror.
‘He needs the insoles, which correct an imbalance in his ankles, and he won’t return until the end of next week.’
