Away from the glamour that is associated with the Premier League, there are numerous decent players desperately trying to remain in the game.

Coming to the end of a contract can be a harrowing experience.

One player currently training with Fulham, hoping to be offered a deal, is the former Tottenham player Jamie O`Hara.

Reflecting on his own experiences about searching for a contract, O`Hara has remarked to the media,

“I`m grateful to have the chance to train with Fulham. I`m lucky. Football is a tough world when you`re not at the top.

“I`ve got friends who are out of contract and they`re going to meet the PFA to see what they`re going to do.

“There are a lot of talented players out there competing for these deals.

“I thought I`d find another club quickly when I left Wolves but it didn`t happen – and I was very scared if I`m being honest about it.

“I was waiting around for calls, thinking, ‘How is nothing coming up?` You start to doubt yourself. Blackpool were the only club willing to take a chance on me.”

Will Fulham take a chance on the 28-year-old?

That remains to be seen.
