Expensive Football!

I can’t help but think how hard it must be for some people who have lost their jobs recently.

But for the millions of people out there who find themselves struggling with no income and the economy getting worse, the chances of them finding another job soon is slimming.

Sadly, even I, a 16 year old boy lost my job and its making decisions harder for me money wise such as, should I go to Old Trafford on the 17th of February?

But for a cost of £65 including coach travel, I just think I am going to miss this one out. Making it even more disappointing is the fact it would have been my first away match with the noise of the Fulham fans around me.

£40 a ticket is something no 16 year old should ever have to pay to go to a football match.

My first match I saw Fulham play was against Blackburn and it only cost me £5. . And yet, as I see the prices of football tickets increasing, I see the prices some football clubs are paying to sign players. And yes, I do mean Manchester City, with their £107 million pound offer for Kaka. That`s about the price to put together our Fulham team let alone one player. At least AC Milan realised that there are
some things worth more than money.

But how come as usual, the consumer (in this case, the football fan) is always the one who loses out?

How come football clubs earn more from Sky TV and the BBC but yet are pushing up the prices for tickets?

“All this is still in the hands of The Premier League and The FA.”

“They have the power not to allow things like this to happen and I hope they wake up and realise its not acceptable.”

“They can put a cap on transfer fees and salaries.”

“It`s gambling to do things like that. It`s bad news for football. Crazy.”
