After three wins in three matches, nine points harvested from nine available, things are starting to look up at Craven Cottage.

The latest of those three wins came against Cardiff City, on Saturday, with Emerson Hyndman scoring a last gasp winner.

For Emerson the late-winner was something special with the American netting his first senior goal on the occasion of his 20th birthday.

Speaking to the media afterwards, Emerson spoke about scoring his first senior goal with the added bonus of it being his birthday and with his parents having flown over to watch him play, remarking,

“It`s the best birthday present ever.

“My parents don`t come over very often from home.

“To score and help us win was brilliant. Winning it that late was a special feeling.”

It was and it`s strange how late winners give you so much more pleasure than hanging on for twenty minutes defending a narrow lead.
