It looks as if Damien Duff will take up his usual position in the Republic of Ireland starting eleven this evening.
Having virtually settled the play-off with a convincing 4-0 win in Estonia, there were fears that Duff, who limped away from the action after a collision with one of his own team-mates, would miss the game.
But, at what promises to be a fixture played out in a carnival atmosphere as the Republic of Ireland celebrate a return to participation in the finals of a major tournament, the grapevine suggests Damien had been passed fit to play in the fixture in Dublin.
