It wasn’t such delight for Fulham on Saturday when we we’re beaten at Craven Cottage but ahead of the weekend clash Ross McCormack and Marcus Bettinelli signed contract extensions.

Ahead of the Brighton defeat McCormack, linked with a few clubs this summer, and Bettinelli, with some rumours mooting interest from Chelsea, committed their futures to Fulham with the pair agreeing extensions to their deals that were confirmed on the Official Website to take them through until 2019.

19-goals, and assistant with 11 more wasn’t a bad return for McCormack at all last season for Fulham in an otherwise miserable Championship season really so to have him extend his Cottage stay is great news.

However arguably the better news was the extension to the contract of last season’s Player of the Year runner-up, to McCormack, and England U21 international Bettinelli?

After signing his new deal he told the Official Website.

‘I’m absolutely delighted to sign a new deal with the club I’ve been with for a long time. I always dreamed of wearing the number-one shirt for this Club when I was coming through the Academy. I’m extremely proud to wear it now and hopefully for many more years to come.’

We’re proud of you (both) for signing these new deals! It wasn’t ideal that we couldn’t celebrate this with something against Brighton on Saturday though.
