The Fulham career of Mahamadou Diarra appears to be finally coming to a closure.

The Mali international looked set to leave in the summer after a season whereby injuries got the better of him.

However, it looked, after he`d regained his fitness that Fulham might be looking to offer the 32 year-old a new deal. Sadly those plans have been shelved after fears that he could be struck down with an injury again.

Therefore, Diarra is expected to strike a deal with the Greek side Panathinaikos, remarking about his future to the media,

“I can still play at a good level but it won`t be at Fulham.”

It`s a story tinged with sadness but perhaps a story with an inevitable ending.
