Yesterday, against Crystal Palace, we didn’t get the result we all hoped we would.
But, we showed enough during the 90 minutes to suggest that good things lie ahead.
It’d be easy to get a little downbeat after losing the opening game, but it should be remembered that there were seven new faces in the starting eleven yesterday and it will take time for the players to gel and learn about each other’s strengths and weaknesses.
There will be times, during the coming season, whereby we play better than we did yesterday but end up on the losing side, football is like that.
Following the opening day defeat, Slavisa Jokanovic summed it up perfectly on the social media network, remarking:

Some wise words from the boss.
But, continuing it appears the support are also optimistic that better things are to come:
Why would anyone not be upbeat? Good performance just need to be clinical

I'm in the 10% of fans happy with the performance, run the show 70% of the time just need to work on crosses into the box and finishing in front of goal. Palace defence doesn't get enough credit they were extremely solid especially their young RB. Gonna be a good season.

Positive first half, moved the ball really well but we need to take chances when we are on top. Made a few mistakes at the back which cost us but we'll learn and go again against Tottenham. I'm confident.

We are right behind all of you guys – this is a great team and I have every faith it will show that. Time to settle in, time to gell and time to shine!!

the only way you can be! Learning curve for most of our players, it's a long season! Dominated first half, more to come

So, time to remain optimistic and look forward to our fixture, at Wembley, against Tottenham Hotspur next weekend.
