The kerfuffle that evolved ahead of the trip to take on Reading, in a fixture that was eventually abandoned, continues to see Chris Martin generate column inches.

Although Slavisa Jokanovic has dismissed the possibility of the striker, who is on a season long loan from Derby, going back to Pride Park, the Derby manager, Steve McClaren has added some more fuel to the fire.

McClaren, talking to the BBC, is quoted as having remarked,

‘If there is any possibility of getting him back, that would be great.

‘But that is between the two clubs. They have an agreement so we will have to wait and see. It is for the clubs to sort and for us managers to leave it well alone.’

It`s a situation that needs resolving and resolving quickly. If Martin doesn`t want to play for Fulham then fine, get rid and look elsewhere for a target-man style striker.
