The tabloid press informs their readers this morning that Fulham have started talks with Clint Dempsey about a new contract.
Dempsey, currently a lethal goal machine, has a contract that runs out at the end of next season and Fulham are keen to secure his service son a long term basis with Martin Jol remarking about the situation,
“If Clint Dempsey weren`t here, we wouldn`t be in this position because we have had to rely on him a lot of times to score.”
“He`s here for this year and next year so that`s not the problem.”
“The problem is we want to keep him for longer – we want to try to keep him here for the next three years.”
Don`t we all, don`t we all.
Like it says in the first line of Jol`s comments, where would we be without Clint`s goal-scoring prowess this season?
