Six months is a hell of a long time to be sat on the sidelines, even more so after the spell before that also involved a run of injuries that deprived the same player of a continued run in the side.

Therefore, it`s pleasing to see that Simon Davies is back in contention for a place in the squad this Saturday.

Davies played seventy minutes for the reserves in midweek and Martin Jol is considering a squad place for the Welshman this weekend, commenting about his current situation,

“He gave himself seven out of ten fitness wise. If he`s fine tomorrow, I`ll put him in the squad.”

And it`ll be great to have him back.

  • Haha, very true. Riise’s crosses never seem to find one of our boy’s heads and Duff always seems to play on the right forcing him to cross on his right which provides the same outcome as Riise’s.
