Lee Cook admits his road to recovery has been the most difficult period of his football life, but reassures Fulham fans he’ll be back in action soon.

‘I did my cruciate once before and I was out for seven months, but this has been much worse. That time I knew I was out for a long time but this time I thought I was only going to be out for six weeks and it’s turned out to be six months.’

‘Mentally, it’s been the hardest time of my career. But I’m seeing the light at the end of the tunnel now and I’m looking forward to getting through it and playing again soon.’

‘On the pitch it’s very tight and the boys have been doing very well. We’ve drawn a lot of games, and we would have liked to have turned a couple of them into wins, but apart from Derby at home, which we felt we should have won, they’ve been decent points. We nearly nicked a draw at Liverpool too. There seem to be three mini leagues; the top four, six teams battling for Europe and then we’re near the top of the next tier. Our aim is break into the tier of teams fighting for Europe.’
