Fulham manager Chris Coleman believes Chelsea are there to be taken and warned that his side will try to rough them up in their own back yard.
He als thinks Chelsea are vulnerable without John Terry and Petr Cech. And with Ricardo Carvalho and Didier Drogba one yellow card from a suspension, Fulham are planning an aggressive onslaught at Stamford Bridge on Saturday. Coleman said: ‘We will be going at them with lots of pace and lots of contact.
‘We won`t be sitting back, I promise. We`ve got to put the pressure on them.
‘We`ve got to get stuck in, get in amongst them, take the game to them. A year or 18 months ago Chelsea would go 1-0 up and it would be all over. Now it`s a bit different. Any team would miss John Terry.’
Coleman had no time for Jose Mourinho`s complaint about being short of players as he feels that the multi million pound bench that Chelsea have every week should be able to cope, adding: ‘He`s got his own problems, I think he`s down to his last 30 players.’
Chelsea will be relieved that Fulham battering ram Heidar Helguson is suspended, otherwise the visitors would have instigated a full-on examination of a defence who have started leaking goals.
Coleman added: ‘We`ve got to change it a bit with Collins John but we`ll still be going right at them. If it means we win, I`m not worried.’
Chelsea`s 2-0 win at Craven Cottage earlier in the season still rankles with Coleman, whose team more than held their own before succumbing to a late burst.
But he did beat them at home last season and always makes it difficult for Mourinho`s side.
Coleman has admitted his interest in Roma striker Vincenza Montella, with a view to taking him on loan, saying: ‘He is somebody we like and a player I`ve watched but we have to respect Roma`s wishes and can`t comment further.’
American winger Clint Dempsey will sign for Fulham if they persuade a tribunal his lack of caps for the U.S. should not impede the move.
