With Lawrie Sanchez firmly entrenched, well until the end of the season, in the managerial role at Craven Cottage, the previous occupier has taken time out to speak to the media.
Chris Coleman, who spent ten years at Fulham either as a player or as the manager, admitted that he didn`t, like the majority of us, see the axe about to fall but he also remains confident that his ex-club, a club he still has a lot of feeling for, will survive in the Premiership remarking,
“I am devastated to be honest. I had been at the club ten years and I never really saw it coming.”
“They have got their decisions to make and their reasons but I am still devastated.”
“Being somewhere for ten years. I know a lot of people at Fulham and I would be devastated if they were relegated from the Premier league.”
“I don`t want to see them go out. I know the players in the dressing room and they are strong guys and I believe that is what will see them through.”
However, reports suggesting that he could be prepared to apply for the position of manager at struggling Leicester City could be well off the mark with Coleman explaining,
“I will spend a little bit more time with my four children. I will spend some quality time with them.”
“I will enjoy a little break to make sure that, when I do come back, the batteries are recharged.”
