It was thought that our silky forward Patrick Roberts was destined for a move to Manchester City.

Despite our warnings that he`d, at best, only get the occasional place on the bench, it seemed that Roberts wanted to join one of the big-shots of the Premier League and that it was only a matter of time before the deal was completed.

However, this morning, it is being reported that the scenario could change. Fulham and Manchester City are still haggling over a fee with Fulham wanting £10 million and Manchester City, aware the youngster is in the last year of his contract, only willing to pay half of that.

Over on mainland Europe, Paris St-Germain are anxiously watching developments and are also keen to take Roberts on board. However, if both clubs don`t pay the fee Fulham are after PSG know that if they can nab Roberts they will only be liable for a fee of £300,000, courtesy of differing European laws.

Methinks that if that is the situation then Fulham and Manchester City will come to an amicable monetary agreement, don`t you!
