The honours were even last night, at Stamford Bridge, in a game that was not short on energy but lacking in class.

In fact, walking home down Fulham Road and meandering back towards Hammersmith, I couldn`t help but ponder as to whether we`d missed a glorious opportunity to get a rare win, at Stamford Bridge, over our local rivals.

Chelsea, who hadn`t won for five Premier League games, going into this fixture, might have had the majority of the possession but our hard work and endeavour restricted them to very few chances.

Schwarzer had to make a save from Torres, although the power in the shot made it nothing spectacular, whilst Jon Arne Riise missed a glorious chance to put us ahead when a perfect cross saw the Norwegian stab his shot wide when it looked easier to score.

As you`d expect, at a place like Stamford Bridge, the home side did come on strong, in the second half, but apart from a header form Ivanovic that went wide and a half-volley from Torres that Hughes lashed clear, we were never really in any serious trouble.

Going forward, Rodallega forced a save from Cech, with a long range shot and with the Chelsea supporters vacating the ground early, dismayed at what they`d seen, we could even have won a late penalty when Ramires appeared to fouled Frei, in the area, but the referee, simply waved play on.

Was it an opportunity missed to get a rare win against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge, or was it a point gained?
