Chatting With Rovers!

Ahead of our vital clash with Blackburn Rovers this Sunday, we thought we`d have a tasty little chat with one of the Vital Blackburn crew.

Here`s how it went,

1 – Would you be devastated if Hughes moved on to another club?

Absolutely, I think we all know the positive impact that Sparky has had on our club. He has taken us from relegation fodder to a permanent top half fixture and signed some great players as well and made the guys super fit and excellent team players. One day I am sure it ill happen; more than likely in a few years time but when it does happen, it will be a sad day for Blackburn Rovers.

2 – Do you feel Blackburn can step into the top four this season?

I think personally that it will be a long shot but it is certainly not out of the question. We have the ability as a team and as we have shown this season we have the resiliency to get results when our backs are against the walls (e.g. Spurs away). The key will be keeping injuries down to a minimum if we are to sustain a good run. If you were to ask me honestly I think we will finish 5/6th.

3 – Were you surprised when Fulham splashed so much cash this summer?
I think it came as a bit of a surprise but I think for Fulham it was needed to freshen things up. Having said that most people are aware that your owner has the ability to spend a lot if required The money has been spent on proven talent and potential so I believe it will come together eventually for you guys but sometimes when you spend a lot of money it takes time for things to gel properly.

4- Where do you think both of us will finish this season?

As I eluded to before realistically I expect us to finish in the UEFA Cup spots. As for Fulham after last season I imagine (I could be wrong here) that a season of consolidation is required this time around. As a rough guess I’ll go with 14th (mainly due to away form) but it could go either way.

5 – Who is your danger man, in your opinion?

In my eyes we offer more of a threat as a team than as individuals but if you were to press me, our threats will come from Dave Bentley, Benni McCarthy and from corners the massive Chris Samba.

6 – Any of our players you fear?

Yeah absolutely, Fulham are a real handful on their day particularly at home. David Healy is a cracking striker who can score goals consistently with the right service and the other player who will constantly cause problems is Simon Davies, who often goes unnoticed. Niemi the goalkeeper is one of the best in the League as well.

7 – A result please?

Well, considering it is often difficult to call after an international break and that I consider Fulham the most unpredictable team in the League (sorry guys), I’ll have a stab in the dark at a high scoring 3-2 win for Blackburn.

Our thanks go to our friends at Blackburn for their assistance in producing this article. Thanks lads!
