Entering the fixture against Liverpool last night, it looked as if we were handily placed to sneak into the Europa League by the back door.

Okay, it may mean a lot of Thursday night fixtures but or exemplary behaviour had us almost nailed on to earn a place through the ‘Fair Play` league.

Before last night we were second, behind Chelsea (who have already qualified for the Champions League) and the Premier League was lying second in the respective national league whereby the top three are guaranteed a wildcard entry from their leagues, as such.

Therefore, as somebody who thoroughly enjoyed the Europa League run that eventually only ended in Hamburg at the Final, I hope the plethora of yellow cards we picked up last night don`t have serious ramifications.

After a season of good behaviour it`d be so sad to throw it all away in our last three games!

  • this is the one regard that i don’t think danny serves us well as a captain… he’s completely too tempermental…

  • Frustration shows sometimes, even in the most disciplined squads. We were not ready to play last night.

  • AS LONG AS WE DONT PICK UP ANY RED CARDS WE SHOULD BE ALL RIGHT BEAR THAT IN MIND LADS

  • I agree Woody. Super Danny Murphy is a great player, but wears his heart too close to his sleeve at times. Against us he lost the plot within about 2 minutes, and I think that affected the team performance.
