As the kick-off draws nearer for what should be an entertaining Championship fixture, we`re bringing you a new feature.

After being the editor-in-chief for this site for quite a while now, it`s strange how the idea of focussing on the match officials hasn`t occurred to me before.

Tonight, the Football League have appointed the following officials to ensure that fair play is adhered to at Craven Cottage this evening:-

Referee – Dean Whitestone

Assistants – Alan Dale and Darren Blunden

Fourth Official – Iain Williamson

Dean Whitehouse, the referee tonight, is from Northamptonshire and his claims to fame are:-

? In the 2015 / 2016 season he has refereed 31 matches in all competitions.

? During those 31 matches he has shown a total of 96 yellow cards and 3 red cards.

? As for the fixture where he showed the most cards, that was back on August 29th when, during the Colchester v Scunthorpe match he pulled out the yellow card 7 times.

? That figure was matched in the fixture between Middlesbrough and Blackburn, in February.

? With Fulham having recently seen Stearman and Amorebieta take the long walk, let`s hope Mr Whitehouse shows some leniency tonight.
