It`s a strange tale that`s doing the rounds.
A tale that carries the implication that Jimmy Bullard forced the issue` regarding his future, by threatening to go on strike.
Speaking on BBC`s Football Focus, Jimmy had this to say,
“I had sixteen months left on my contract, and I wasn`t willing to play with just sixteen months left – I told them that, even though I was under contract.”
“I`ve been out injured for sixteen months before and I knew it was a long time. But I just felt Fulham didn`t want me and I needed more backing from the club.”
“I was in talks over a new contract and was told I wasn`t getting one and could leave in January.”
“For a player to be told that is quite harsh and when I came up to Hull it was totally different. That made it a lot easier for me.”
Clearly, Jimmy is fast travelling down a route whereby any respect the Fulham fans had for him is, sadly, fast disappearing!
