At last, at last, a win!

In our fifth game of the season it feels as if we`ve struck gold!

After four straight defeats, to open our Championship campaign after our fall from Premier League grace, it was a nervous Fulham support that edged across West London to see Fulham take on our near-neighbours Brentford in a Capital One Cup second round tie.

Our paths in this competition had crossed twice before and both times we`d exited the competition, but last night our lads done us proud. Playing with fire in their bellies they were the better team and got their just rewards when Ross McCormack, with sixty-eight minutes played, scored his first goal for the club since his move from Leeds United.

Although Brentford done their utmost to force extra-time, for once the rearguard held firm and the Fulham supporters in the relatively small attendance of 7,563 will be pondering over who they`d like to meet in the 3rd round.
