The Cottagers were poor on their travels last season but stunned Newcastle 2-1 at St James’ Park last Saturday.

Spurs have begun the season poorly and Boa Morte, although he has a lot of respect for them, believes Fulham can take three points from White Hart Lane.

‘So far we’ve had a good start to the season and hopefully we can stay in the top ten – it’s a long season but we’re constantly looking forward,’ Boa Morte told Fulham’s official website.

‘We know it’s going to be a tough game against Tottenham on Sunday but we’ve won our last two games so we’re full of confidence.

‘We’ll do everything we can to get another good result. It’s a London derby and we’ll be up for it.

Wayne Routledge will also miss the Tottenham game under the terms of his year-long loan agreement, but the young winger has already made an impression on his new team-mates.

Collins John believes that Fulham boss Chris Coleman was clever to bring Routledge in, and backed the 21-year-old to dazzle this season.

‘I’ve known Wayne for a long time and I think he’ll be a sensation this year with his pace and trickery,’ said John.

‘He was involved in both goals against Newcastle and I think the manager did a good job bringing him to Fulham. I’m very happy he’s here.’
