Am I the only one who hardly slept a wink last night?
With our hopes of gaining that second automatic promotion place on the line today, I did nothing but toss and turn all night as I contemplated just what might happen today.
With daylight breaking, I finally gave up on getting any sleep, I gathered my senses and prepared myself for what could, most probably, be the most nerve-racking 90 minutes of my life.
Fulham will run out at St Andrews knowing that if they win they still need Reading to get some kind of result at Cardiff, for their automatic promotion dream to be realised.
Unfortunately, Reading are in the kind of form that suggests Fulham could well be set for the dreaded play-offs something we failed to navigate last year.
Slavisa Jokanovic, ahead of the tussle today, has remarked about the situation, at his pre-match press conference,
“Definitely they are in a better position than us. Even if they lose, they can be promoted.
“Cardiff are not under my control, I cannot be nervous or think so much about them because I can do nothing.
“I cannot lose anything because we’ve never been second.”
A pragmatic view but one that is very true.
