Bent a No-Go

Any hopes Fulham Football Club had of luring the out-of-favour Aston Villa striker, Darren Bent, to Craven Cottage look to have died.

Reports in the tabloid press this morning would seem to indicate that Bent is now bound for Newcastle with it now being implied that Fulham were very reluctant to meet his salary demands with his current deal, at Aston Villa, being worth something close to £80,000 a week.

Even though we`ve had a change of ownership and that there are, supposedly, funds available for transfers, Bent`s salary makes this one deal, we are told, that is classified as too costly!
