Continuing the international theme, our own Chris Baird has had a word or two to say about his national manager.
Nigel Worthington, who has been under pressure after failing to take Northern Ireland to the Euro Final and has also been the victim of home sharp barbs of criticism from a certain Lawrie Sanchez, has leapt to the defence of his national boss, commenting to the media hounds,
“He has been fantastic for us, great for our country and great for the players who have worked under him.”
“He has always stuck by us, has everyone`s respect, is a good coach and I back him.”
As a stalwart of the Irish side, we`d hope that Baird`s words are heeded by those in charge!
