Danny Murphy has joined the likes of Hughes, Bullard and Healy to announce that he would like to stay at the Cottage even if we are playing outside the Premiership next season.

The former Liverpool man has made 27 starts since arriving in the summer from Spuds on a free.

With the possibility that our future could be set in stone this weekend Murphy has come out to say he’s prepared to stay put.

The 31-year-old , who is out of contract at the end of the season told the press today:

“I’ve certainly no intention or desire to leave the club, no matter what the predicament next season.

“I enjoy working under Roy, I enjoy being at this club, and the fans have been great.

“Obviously there’s certain restrictions the club might find itself facing in terms of the budget if, God forbid, we go down.”

Will Murphy continue to feature in Roy’s plans?
