And Mawson Makes It Six Summer Signings For Fulham

|

This time next week, we’ll be eagerly counting down the minutes as we wait for our first Premier League fixture of the new season, against Crystal Palace.

The fixture, at what we hope will be a packed out Craven Cottage, will give the Fulham faithful the opportunity to view, first-hand, the plethora of summer signings made by the club, including the latest addition, Alfie Mawson.

Yesterday, it was confirmed by the BBC that the Swansea City defender had signed for Fulham, with the 24-year-old putting pen-to-paper on a four-year contract, for a transfer fee that could reach the £20 million mark.

An ever-present in the Swansea City side last season, here at Vital Fulham, we imagine that Mawson will, if fit following knee surgery at the end of last season, partner Tim Ream at the heart of the Fulham defence in the aforementioned fixture.

Mawson, after signing for Fulham, was naturally excited and remarked, as reported by our source,

“I’m excited by the project going on here and I can’t wait to get going.

“The football being played last season was lovely on the eye but also effective and I can’t wait to be a part of it.

“I’m excited to be a part of this great club moving forward and to help achieve success in the Premier League.”

In completing his move Mawson becomes the latest summer transfer window addition joining Aleksandar Mitrovic, Fabri, Andre Schurrle, Jean Michael Seri and Maxime le Marchand.

These are exciting times for Fulham supporters as we wait for the big kick-off next Saturday 11 August.
