In a thirty-eight game season we go thirty-seven games without picking up a red card and in that thirty-eighth game we go and pick one up!
Now whether the red card, picked up by Zoltan Gera against Arsenal, will have implications with regards to finishing high enough in the Fair Play League to grasp that place offered to an English team in the Europa League, remains to be seen.
Speaking about just such, Mark Hughes had this to say,
“We`ll know about the Europa League on Friday. I`m hopeful it won`t have too much impact as it`s factored over 38 games.”
Friday seems a long way off; the wait will be agonizing even though it`ll mean a truncated summer break!
