With our eagerly anticipated return to top-flight football just a matter of two weeks or so away, things are starting to get exciting.
But, the big question I have to ask is whether our squad has been strengthened enough to make an impact in the Premier League.
Although the club has been active in the transfer market and I’m sure there are several targets the club are looking to bring in, I’m still a little unsure as to whether we have.
Surfing through the social media networks, desperate for inspiration, I stumbled across the following:
Sorry I’m on one this morning ????
But…
Chris Smalling will be a bit part player this season for Utd, contract runs out in 12 months. Utd want Maguire and need to sell.
Would a cheeky 20 Million bid bring the lad home? #Fulham pic.twitter.com/96nCUq6RSJ

Personally, I think the author of the tweet has a valid point.
Chris Smalling’s career has reached a crossroads.
Left out of the England World Cup squad and with Jose Mourinho looking to add to his defensive ranks perhaps a fresh challenge could be just what Smalling needs.
But, as for the fee, I’m not sure Manchester United would be so accommodating, but we could but ask.
Here at Vital Fulham, we’d be interested in your views on a possible return to Craven Cottage for a player who made his name at Craven Cottage after he was plucked from non-league football.
