A Villa Fan On Todays Game

1) So, much like Fulham, Villa are languishing near the bottom of the league. What has been the reason?

I could write an essay on this. Either that or I could sum it up in two words. Ellis and O’Leary. Ellis is the main cancer at the club, but O’Leary has certainly contributed to what has been a dire season. He has managed to talk a good game and yet we have the lowest points tally for 30 games in the Prem ever (34). The fans have turned on O’Leary, mainly because the manager is an easier target than the stubborn chairman.

2) Where would you expect Villa to be in the table and what are the realistic expectations for the future?

We always were a top seven side, we are now no better than top ten pushing for the European spot. With the right manager we should still be top 8 but O’Leary has had a de-motivating effect on the club and side.

3) Earlier in the season the two sides fought out a 3-3 draw, what do you expect from our visit to Villa Park?

I’d like a win, because that will make Villa all but safe, but a draw certainly wouldn’t shock me and after your performance v Chelsea, you could even push to get the ever elusive win at Villa Park.

4) Is David O’Leary the right man to take your team forward?

NO, NO, NO. He is a self-promoting, self-serving twit. He is quoted in the paper today saying he loves us all. Too late for a charm offensive Mr O’Leary, we’ve got you sussed. Villa fans don’t take to people who are all talk, we expect action and this season has been woeful and the only person O’Leary hasn’t blamed is himself.

5) What is your opinion of Fulham?

I actually don’t think I have one. Not being funny in any way, I think you did really well to get into the Premiership but think there is a limit to what a club of your size can achieve unless Al Fayed decides to splash the cash and ignore the business side of the club. I certainly don’t think you should be so low in the league.

6) Will Villa survive this season? Who are your tips for relegation?

Yes, we are all but safe and 3 points today would put any doubts to bed. I actually think we would/could have faced relegation if Gareth Barry hadn’t played as well as he has, he really has been the rock in the team. Our away form has picked up slightly this year but the home form is the worst I can remember in years, so that is a worry as we have five home games left including two local derbies. Sunderland are gone, Portsmouth might struggle although they have rallied, I can’t see the Blues surviving, a few of my mates are season ticket holders at the Sty and they are all saying there is no way back for their demoralised side. So really, it is either the Baggies (WBA) or Pompey to join Sunderland and Blues.

7) What is your match prediction for tomorrows game?

My heart says 1-0 to Villa my head a 1-1 draw. I would wish you good luck, but you’d know I was lying!
