With Brede Hangeland set to miss the home fixture with Manchester United this afternoon, Martin Jol has decided to give the captain`s armband to Dimitar Berbatov.

Berbatov, a former United player, has struggled for goals this season scoring just one in eight appearances. However, Jol, it would seem has been asking the Bulgarian to play a different role with Jol commenting,

“Dimitar should do better than before. I have enough experience with him, he is always someone who will score one in two or one in three, but he had to do a different job for the team.”

“He had to play in the hole and he`s probably more like a #9 who likes his freedom.”

Hopefully Dimitar will get on the score-sheet this afternoon but as for being named captain, he may be a classy operative but I`m not sure he`s a born leader, how about you?
