A Replacement for Schwarzer

Having passed the forty years of age mark, its generally accepted that Mark Schwarzer, our Australian legend, can`t go on for ever.

That`s probably the reason why we seem to be linked with signing a goalkeeper come the opening of the January transfer window.

One name put forward in the press this morning is that of Paul Robinson

Robinson, now 33, is currently languishing in the Championship with Blackburn Rovers. However, according to the press, signing Robinson is a priority as Jol believes that matching his current contract and luring him to London isn`t an insurmountable problem.

Perhaps the deal, as the press points out, could hinge on a faltering promotion bid by Blackburn coupled with a desire to trim the wage bill!
