A Relieved McKinlay

With Martin Jol still absent having failed to recover from the chest infection that had also kept him away from Goodison Park at the weekend, Billy McKinlay was left to marshal the troops.

After a fine 1-0 win, Billy, in a brief comment given to the media afterwards, obviously recalled what he`d said after the thrashing by Everton when he remarked,

“Hopefully, this will cheer him up a bit. I`ll enjoy our conversation more than I did after Saturday.”

I`d imagine that despite his current ailment, Martin Jol would have had a smile on his face when Lee Probert blew the final whistle up at Anfield last night.
