After you`ve been side-lined with a hamstring injury, the last thing you want is to be returning to the dressing room after a mere four minutes of action, but that`s what happened to Dimitar Berbatov yesterday.
The Bulgarian, trying to get his head to a ball was unfortunate enough to get a kick in the face from Bradley Johnson.
Discussing the incident and being forced to carry on a man short whilst Dimitar was being treated in the sanctuary of the dressing room, Martin Jol had this to say,
“Dimitar got kicked and he asked me whether he was still handsome.”
“It was important for him but not for me.”
“But we had to play with 10 men for five minutes while our player received treatment. Then our player had to wait two minutes to get on again.”
“It is an awful rule. We should send their player away for five minutes as well, so it is 10 v 10.”
Here at Vital Fulham we`re not sure that rule will catch on martin, but it`s a nice thought!
